About Tyler D. Olson
Tyler joined Barnes Maloney, PLLC, in January 2025. His practice areas include trucking and automobile negligence, wrongful death and catastrophic injury, construction defect, and insurance bad faith.
Born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, Tyler attended the University of Kentucky for undergrad before attending NKU – Salmon P. Chase College of Law, graduating cum laude. While in law school, Tyler was an editor of Northern Kentucky Law Review and extern for the Honorable Susan J. Dlott of the Southern District of Ohio.
Immediately following law school, Tyler began working for a multi-state civil litigation firm before joining Barnes Maloney, PLLC, in 2018. Tyler continued working for Barnes Maloney, PLLC, until 2020, when he moved to the Rocky Mountains and continued practicing in Denver and Breckenridge, Colorado. In 2025, Tyler returned to the Commonwealth and Barnes Maloney, PLLC.
Throughout his legal career, Tyler has primarily practiced civil defense litigation, focusing on catastrophic and fatal trucking accidents, representing national and regional trucking companies, and construction defect and insurance bad faith. Tyler’s experience has permitted him to hone the skills needed to analyze a case from its inception through resolution to ensure the greatest possible outcome for his clients.
Tyler’s pre-suit experience includes responding to the scene of the accident, allowing the preservation of evidence, and continuing by analyzing information obtained through the pre-suit process to assist in determining the best strategy for litigation. His litigation experience includes conducting all phases of the discovery process, taking and defending depositions, drafting applicable dispositive and pre-trial motions, and continuing through trial, with his trial experience including jury and bench trials.
Tyler is an avid fly fisher and is a member of Bluegrass Trout Unlimited. He also enjoys skiing with his wife, whether on man-made snow in the Midwest or on trips out West.
